COGScontrol for Claude.

Ask Claude about your organization's cloud and AI costs and get the same figures you see in COGScontrol. Claude reads your COGScontrol books. It cannot change them.

What can you ask?

  • Spend: "What did we spend last month, and on which services?" "How did AI spend move week by week this quarter?"
  • Drivers: "Which projects or cost centers drove the increase in September?"
  • Budgets: "How are our budgets tracking? Which ones are at risk?"
  • Unit economics: "What did each loan processed cost us last month?" (needs a business metric set up in COGScontrol)
  • Monthly brief: "Summarize last month's brief." "What's new, ongoing and resolved compared with the month before?"
  • Anomalies: "Were there any unusual spikes in spend this month, and why?"

Every figure states its period, its currency (US dollars) and which providers it covers.

Before you start

  • You need an active COGScontrol account: you must be an invited member of a COGScontrol organization. You cannot create a COGScontrol account from Claude.
  • The connector works in Claude on the web, the Claude desktop app and the Claude mobile apps. Claude Code isn't supported.
  • On a Claude Team or Enterprise plan, an owner of your Claude organization may need to allow the connector first.

How do I connect?

  1. In Claude, open Settings → Connectors and find COGScontrol in the directory.
  2. Select Connect. A COGScontrol sign-in page opens at auth.cogscontrol.ai.
  3. Sign in with your COGScontrol email and password.
  4. Back in Claude, ask a question. Claude uses the connector when your question is about your COGScontrol data.

You can also add the connector by address: in Settings → Connectors, choose Add custom connector and enter https://mcp.api.cogscontrol.ai/mcp. In COGScontrol, Organization Settings → API shows the same address.

What can the connector see?

  • Only your own organization's data, limited to what your COGScontrol role allows.
  • Cost totals and breakdowns, budgets, business metrics, dashboards (titles only) and the written briefs COGScontrol prepares.
  • It is read-only. It cannot create, change or delete budgets, rules, dashboards, users or any other setting.

What does COGScontrol keep?

COGScontrol receives only the question's tool request (for example "cost by project for September"). It never receives your Claude conversation, files or memory.

For each request COGScontrol keeps an operational record (which tool was used, when, whether it succeeded and how long it took) for 30 days, and request metadata for 90 days. It never keeps the figures returned or your sign-in token. See our privacy policy.

How do I disconnect?

In Claude, open Settings → Connectors, select COGScontrol and choose Disconnect. If you are removed from your COGScontrol organization, the connector stops returning data straight away.

Troubleshooting

  • "COGScontrol couldn't fetch that right now." A temporary problem on our side. Try again in a minute.
  • "Your COGScontrol account no longer has access." You were removed from your organization, or your organization's access was changed. Contact your COGScontrol administrator.
  • Connected as the wrong person. The sign-in page remembers the last COGScontrol account used in that browser. To connect a different account, disconnect, sign in again in a private browser window (or clear site data for auth.cogscontrol.ai), then connect.
  • Claude asks to sign in again. Sessions expire after a period of inactivity. Sign in again to continue.
